How did I get infected with?

Demoney turns to the usual antics to invade. The old but gold means assist it in its sneaky attempts. Take for example, the most common one. Freeware. The program lurks behind the freeware, and uses it as a shield to conceal its presence. And, if you’re not vigilant enough to spot it, it slips by you unnoticed. And, you only become aware of the invasion after the pop-ups start flooding in. So, do yourself a favor, and make sure you are, in fact, cautious. Pay extra attention when dealing with freeware. Read the terms and conditions. Know what you say YES to. If you give into naivety and rely on luck, odds are, you’ll end up with a threat. Don’t choose carelessness over caution. Distraction, naivety, and haste lead to infections slithering into your PC. Vigilance and due diligence help to keep them out. Other common means of infiltration include spam emails and fake updates. As well as, corrupted sites or links. Always be on your guard, when allowing anything off the web into your PC.

Why is this dangerous?

The Demoney extension gets promoted by a malicious JavaScript code from the Defertank.com site. Once the nasty program gets forced on your computer, that website becomes your shadow. The adware redirects you to it, constantly. Open a new tab, search the web, do anything at all, and you see it. It even replaces your default homepage and search engine. Defertank.com becomes the bane of your browsing. Due to the endless redirects, and flood of ads, you suffer further consequences. Your system starts to crash all the time. Your computer slows down to a crawl. It’s mess. And, though, these issues are quite an annoyance. They’re not the worst ones you face. They seem a walk in the park, compared to the security risk, the adware places on you. The Demoney menace follows programming to spy on you. It starts as soon as it invades. The tool tracks your every online move, and records it. Once it deems it has collected enough data, it sends it. Oh, yes! First, it steals information from you. Then, it exposes it to strangers. The third parties that published it, to be precise. That means, cyber criminals with agendas get access to your private life. Are you going to allow that? Or, would you rather your privacy remain private? Do what’s best for you, and your system, and pick the latter. Delete the Demoney cyber plague at once.
