How did I get infected with?

You didn’t install a computer virus on your own computer, right? Are you sure? The download doesn’t necessarily have to happen with your active participation so even though it may sound ridiculous, you probably infected the PC yourself. RoyalAds and other similar programs usually travel the web as parts of a software bundle. Bundled freeware is an extremely convenient method for PC users to download many programs at once but it’s an even more convenient method for viruses to enter your machine. Unless you pay some extra attention to the installation process, you might end up with an entire bundle of infections. Needless to say what catastrophic results that may have on your cyber safety. Our advice is to avoid suspicious-looking unknown websites and always go through the Terms and Conditions of what you’re about to install. Don’t underestimate virtual threats and don’t jeopardize your own security.

Why are these ads dangerous?

It’s supposed not to be. In spite of that, keep in mind RoyalAds is a PC virus and hackers only have one reason to create viruses – they want to generate illegal revenue. Apart from using the famous pay-per-click system, cyber criminals might also try to include you in some kind of a scheme resulting, of course, in you losing your money. Our guess is that you don’t really insist on becoming a sponsor to cyber criminals so the only way to make sure you’re not going to experience direct financial negative consequences, is to get rid of RoyalAds immediately. Hackers get paid to generate web traffic but as they don’t worry too much about your online safety, you may be redirected to some highly unreliable websites filled with threats. That means RoyalAds is potentially very dangerous and could serve as a back door to browser hijackers, trojans, etc. To make the danger even more inevitable, RoyalAds creates an add-on, compatible with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. What does the add-on do? It injects your once trusty browser with an enormous variety of third-party ads, coupons, discounts, offers, deals and basically hides every web page you visit under a pile of commercials. As we mentioned already, the ads could be corrupted so apart from being annoying and intrusive beyond belief, they  might also cause some serious damage to your device. Avoid clicking these commercials and remove the virus before it somehow manages to bring you more trouble. RoyalAds also collects some browsing-related data so the hackers can use it later on for marketing purposes. Obviously, the PC itself will experience some difficulties and it might start slowing down, occasionally freeze or even crash. To regain control over your browser and make sure every threat RoyalAds exposed you to is completely removed, you have to delete the virus. In order to help you do so manually, we’ve provided a detailed instruction guide bellow.
