How did I get infected with?

Trojans are sneaky, and so is HawkEye. It uses slyness and finesse to slither into your system. And, not only does it manage to invade. But it does it, undetected. Yes, the infection infiltrates without you even realizing it. How? Well, it preys on your carelessness, and resorts to the old but gold invasive methods. That means, it uses freeware as a way in. Or, spam emails, corrupted links or torrents. It can also pose as a fake system or program update. There are a lot of methods, the Trojan can turn to, but they do share a denominator. Do you spot it? All the methods can’t prove successful, without your carelessness. The infection relies on you to rush, and skip doing due diligence. To leave your fate to chance, instead of taking the time to be thorough. Don’t oblige! Don’t ease its infiltration! Always make sure to be vigilant. Read terms and conditions, look for the fine print, and double-check everything. Even a little extra attention goes a long way. Remember that caution helps you to avoid getting stuck with cyber threats. Vigilance helps you to catch infections in the act of attempting invasion, and deny them. Carelessness does not. Make the right choice.

Why is this dangerous?

That includes ads and links, you click. Pages you frequent. Social media accounts, passwords and logins. The Trojan gets access to all that data, and then exposes it to the people behind it. Once they get a hold of it, they can use it as they see fit. Do you think that ends well? Hardly. The Trojan also provides these cyber criminals with additional data. Like, your operating system, IP addresses, local data/time, keyboard layout, network type. In other words, basic system information that’s best left private. Don’t let these strangers get access to it. Keep your personal and financial data out of their reach, as well. The sooner you remove HawkEye from your computer, the better.
