How did I get infected with?

Fake updates, corrupted links, bundles, malvertising, pirated software. There are myriads of ways for Ipcap to reach your computer. The Trojans, however, tend to travel the web through spam messages. That’s right! The good old spam emails are still the number one cause of virus infections. The method remains the same, but its scheme is quite different. The crooks no longer rely merely on malicious attachments. They use them, of course, but they also embed corrupted links. One click is all they pray for. That’s all they need to infect your computer. Do not make their job easier! Choose caution over carelessness. Treat the unexpected messages as potential threats. Whether it’s an email or an instant message, always verify the senders. If, for example, you receive an unexpected email from an organization, go to their official website. Compare the email addresses listed there to the questionable one. If they don’t match, delete the pretender. You can also enter the suspicious addresses into a search engine. If they were used for questionable activities, someone might have complained. Also, when downloading attachments, always make sure that they are “true file type.” The Ipcap executable might be camouflaged as a PDF file, for example. Make sure that the format of the file matches its extension.

Why is this dangerous?

Ipcap is a nasty Trojan. Its infiltration process has no symptoms, yet, once the virus calls your OS “home,” everything changes. The Trojan messes with essential program directories and is likely to trigger various issues. It might cause your programs to malfunction, to take forever to load or to crash out of the blue. The Trojan also slows your system down, as well as triggers errors and alerts. It might even force you to reboot your system repeatedly. These issues, however, are not your biggest problem. They are your clue! Every performance problem you encounter is a warning of how meddling and dangerous the Trojan is. Ipcap modifies your system and is capable of infecting it with various parasites. From annoying adware to destructive ransomware, anything might infect your PC through the Trojan. No one can tell you what to expect. What will happen to your computer depends on the Trojan’s operators. One is certain, though, these criminals won’t do you a favor. Their virus exists to cause harm! Do yourself a huge favor and remove this menace before it gets you in serious trouble.
