How did I get infected with Search Pulse?

Spam messages, corrupted links, fake updates, pirated software. There are myriads of malware distribution tricks. You can never know where a parasite might strike from. Search Pulse, however, tends to rely on software bundles. This app travels the Web as a bonus to third-party software. It gets installed when you “forget” to deselect it. Confused? The PUP preys on your carelessness and naivety. It infects your PC when you throw caution to the wind. This parasite gets installed only if you, the user, approves its installation. No permission, no admission! Search Pulse is bound to seek your approval. That’s the catch! Having to ask, though, is not the same as having to do so outright. The parasite hides in the fine print. It sneaks in when you ignore the red flags! Don’t make that mistake! No anti-virus app can protect you if you throw caution to the wind. Only your vigilance can keep your PC free of infections. Even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems. So, choose caution over carelessness! Always take the time to do your due diligence! Don’t visit questionable websites. Download software from reliable (preferably official) sources only. And, of course, don’t rush through the installation processes. Forget about the “Next-Next-Finish” strategy. When available, use the advanced/custom setup option. Make sure you know what you are approving on board. Go through the terms and conditions before you agree to them. If you can’t read the whole document, scan it with an online EULA analyzer. Opt out of the installation if you notice anything suspicious!
