Hence, do no let its developers harass you and jeopardize your safety. This is a classic adware-type program. It follows the classic pattern and goes after your browsers. How does the scheme work? Well, to begin with, your computer gets infected in silence. Neither your permission nor consent was required because adware doesn’t need authorization. It travels the Web via stealth and leaves you oblivious to the fact your PC is compromised. You will learn more on the parasite’s infiltration methods down below. Mio.exe gets activated immediately after installation. It installs an extension or an add-on to your browsers. Once again, your permission remains absolutely irrelevant. Now that your machine is infected, you’re no longer in charge. Hackers are. And they will use your own online experience to gain dubious revenue online. Are you familiar with the pay-per-click mechanism? Crooks are. All they have to do in order to make money is inject your browsers with ads. Sponsored ads, to be more specific. That’s why you’re currently unable to get rid of pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, interstitials, video ads, etc. You name it, this pest generates it. Every single website you visit comes covered in random commercials in various shapes. To say that your online experience is destroyed would be an understatement. Not only are you unable to find what you search for but you’re also bombarded with ads. It is key for your further safety to stay away from the commercials. These advertisements are sponsored which means they are unreliable by default. You’re only seeing the Mio.exe pop-ups because hackers want you to. Bringing the best deals to you was never the parasite’s goal. This program also redirects you to unknown pages that may or may not be harmless. It also causes your overwhelmed browsers to crash or freeze on occasions. Your Internet connection might become unstable too. And no, that’s not all. Adware has quite a rich variety of tricks in store for you. Mio.exe spies on your sensitive information. The virus shamelessly steals about as much private data as it possibly could. Your browsing history, usernames, passwords, IP addresses, email addresses. All these sensitive details get diligently monitored and sent to crooks. Needless to say why this is dangerous.

How did I get infected with?

The most popular method at the moment involves program bundles. Do you often download freeware or shareware bundles? Then you should know this is the easiest way to infect your computer. All sorts of infections imaginable use that tactic because it’s immensely efficient. Ransomware, Trojan horses and other vicious parasites get spread online in bundles. Thus, check out the programs you give green light to. Opting for the custom or advanced option in the Setup Wizard would let you keep an eye out for potential intruders. If you spot some nasty bonus, you have to deselect it. Remember, that is a lot less troublesome than having to remove malware. Instead of compromising your own device, be careful. There’s no such thing as being too cautious and attentive online. As you can see, crooks rely on your distraction. To prevent virus installation, you should also stay away from spam email-attachments and messages. Those could help malware get distributed so keep that in mind. When you receive suspicious-looking messages or emails from unknown senders, delete them. You have nothing to lose. On the other hand, you do have a lot to gain.
